Safer Streets for Everyone: 1000 Friends Co-Signs Letter to Portland Mayor Hales and City Council

Safe streets for walking are a critical concern for all Oregonians. Recent tragedies in Portland, along with difficult funding choices, have put this issue in stark relief.

1000 Friends has joined Oregon Walks and 16 other partners to sign a letter to Mayor Hales asking that the City not forget its basic responsibilities to improve walking for the city's residents.

The letter is below. If it does not display, you may read it online here (pdf).
