A Discussion of Downtown Redevelopment in Salem for Land Use Leadership Initiative Participants

When: Friday, May 4th. Walking tour begins at 2pm. Public event and discussion with Oregon Humanities will be from 4-5:30 at the Reed Opera House.

Where: Land Use Leadership Initiative tour and discussion begins at 350 Commercial St. at the Salem Urban Development Department. The tour will conclude at 3:30 and we will walk to the Reed Opera House, Gallery 205, 189 Liberty Street NW, Salem for the discussion with Oregon Humanities.

The tour will be an invite-only walking tour of Salem's downtown. City leaders will join us to highlight and discuss strategies to enhance mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly development and revitalization in downtowns. Participants will develop an understanding for the strategies and policies that support activating downtown streets and leveraging under-utilized assets.

Logistics: For those in the Portland area who would like to carpool, we will be meeting in front of 1000 Friends' office at 133 SW 2nd Ave in Portland at 12:30. We will leave promptly at 12:45. PLEASE RSVP IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CARPOOL. We will be back in Portland by 6:30pm. For those driving to Salem, you can park in the Chemeketa Parkade at 300 Commercial St. NE.
