"Retrofitting Suburbia" Film Screening and Panel Discussion
Congress for the New Urbanism-Cascadia is partnering with Portland Sustainability Institute, Metro, and the Sustasis Foundation to host a discussion with Dr. Richard J. Jackson, MD, MPH. Dr. Richard Jackson is Chair of UCLA Environmental Health Sciences, and Host of the PBS Series Designing Healthy Communities.

The event will feature an abridged showing of the "Retrofitting Suburbia" episode from Dr. Jackson's PBS series. Following the screening, Dr. Jackson will speak about his most recent findings and their implications for long-term health. Panelists will join the discussion to examine current challenges and opportunities in the Portland metro region, and to explore how new partnerships could help create healthier, more livable and prosperous places.
