Federal Transportation Policy and the Sustainable City

The upcoming transportation authorization bill has stimulated high hopes, and strong debate, about the future of America's transportation system. Karmen Fore, District Director for Congressman Peter DeFazio (Chair of the Highways and Transit Subcommittee), will broadly describe the role the federal government plays in shaping transportation infrastructure, and more specifically will touch on the ways that the upcoming authorization bill will influence local efforts to create more sustainable, livable communities.
