1000 Friends of Oregon: Oregon Stories
Oregon Stories: What a Month

Dear friend,,

Wow, what a month. What an inspiring, invigorating, exciting month it has been. Our McCall Gala was a big success, we've started exploring land use in person with our Loving Oregon Summer field trips (great times in Helvetia and French Prairie so far), and we're launching our 2014 Land Use Leadership Initiative program.

Even when we're not at the office, we're literally seeing the fruits of land use everywhere at farmers markets and grocery stores around the state. It's all thanks to thinking ahead ‒ and thanks to you and your support for a healthy, productive Oregon.

Have a great summer ‒ and don't forget to send us a photo or two! (Especially if you're visiting the Land Use Trail!)

All our best,
The team at 1000 Friends of Oregon

Applications Open! Land Use Leadership Initiative 2014

We are excited to begin a third year of our Land Use Leadership Initiative. This year, our Fellows will consider the challenges and opportunities presented by the Portland region's projected growth. How does a place grow with grace and fairness? That's the question we'll explore together. Apply here by August 8!

An Evening Celebrating Our Compass: Photos and Recap from the 2014 McCall Gala

Land use is lived in each of our Oregon Stories. On June 20 we gathered with scores of friends at Portland's lovely Exchange Ballroom to share those stories and hear from emerging leaders who are helping write Oregon's next chapter, in cities and the country. Catch a recap of the evening and see photos here.

Video: What's Your Oregon Story?

One of the highlights of our McCall Gala was finding time in the program for guests to share their Oregon Stories. We've collected a few fun favorites in this short video. Highlights: tattoos that make a clear statement, thoughts on Oregon's climate, and several reasons for staying in this great state. Check it out here.
