1000 Friends is pleased to welcome author Benjamin Ross to our 2014 McCall Society Speaker Series. Ross's new book, Dead End: Suburban Sprawl and the Rebirth of American Urbanism, is a history and a strategy for creating more livable places and fighting suburban sprawl. Ross will speak in Eugene and Portland.

About Benjamin Ross: A past president of Maryland's Action Committee for Transit--which he grew into the nation's largest grassroots transit advocacy group, Benjamin Ross is a consultant who works on issues of environment and urban planning around the country. He has served on committees at the National Academy of Sciences and Environmental Protection Agency, and is a frequent contributor to Dissent Magazine.
